Product Manager, Google Cloud Dataproc

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or a related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc).
  • 2 years of experience developing or launching products or technologies within databases, analytics, big data, or a related area.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), project involvement, committership.
  • Prior experience working on developer tools or open source projects.
  • Self-starting product manager accustomed to driving results in collaborative, cross-functional environments with minimal oversight.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

Customers leverage Dataproc open source processing engines, including Spark, to generate insights from their large amount of structured and unstructured data.

In this role, you will help accelerate growth. You will analyze the market trends, learn about customer challenges, define strategy and roadmap to meet customer needs, launch capabilities, and help customers adopt these capabilities. You will also lead the engaging, open source, and customer innovation perspective to inform the product direction. You will also learn about startups delivering innovative platforms on open source technologies. You will be a key spokesperson for Dataproc within and outside. You will interact with leading customers from many different verticals across the globe. You will also interact with the internal infrastructure teams to guide their roadmaps.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Responsibilities

  • Drive the new set of innovation and growth for Cloud Dataproc, powering Open Source Analytics at scale on Google Cloud.
  • Work closely with customers, field and partners to address unmet need.
  • Partner with business development and Go-To-Market (GTM) teams to build growth strategies.
  • Partner with engineering, research and key stakeholder teams to align roadmap and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
