Head of AI Documentation

In accordance with Washington state law, we are highlighting our comprehensive benefits package, which is available to all eligible US based employees. Benefits for this role include:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, English, Communications), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience creating content for technical audiences (e.g., developer documentation, Computer Science course material, or IT administration playbooks).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in technical writing, developer documentation, or developer relations, with experience directly managing and scaling high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience building scalable editorial processes, managing content operations, and overseeing vendor relationships.
  • Proven track record of influencing executive leadership, framing strategic initiatives, and driving cross-functional alignment across product, engineering, and developer marketing teams.
  • Strong background in writing for technical audiences. Familiarity with developer workflows, API documentation, SDKs, and coding agents.
  • Deep understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning concepts, and large language models (LLMs).
  • Ability to comprehend and edit highly technical content related to AI architecture.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $205000 - $286000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical expertise and business judgment to set the overarching strategy for knowledge artifacts, driving the shift to a dual-interface, AI-native content infrastructure for developers and autonomous agents.
  • Serve as a trusted peer to engineering and product leaders, effectively framing complex problems and building cross-organizational collaborations to align knowledge strategy with company goals.
  • Design and implement robust processes that can scale rapidly to support expanding editorial needs and new product launches.
  • Oversee freelance relationships and negotiate vendor agreements to secure specialized technical content and augmented team bandwidth as needed.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of technical writers and cultivate an environment of continuous learning where the team stays ahead of industry trends in AI-native workflows.
