Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in project or program management, within regulatory affairs, technology risk management, or compliance-related fields.
- Experience designing and operationalizing regulatory compliance programs for new and emerging regulations, including regulatory and reputational risk.
- Experience working on information security compliance programs and audits, including technical code reviews, application security testing.
- Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently to liaise with local regulatory bodies and interpret policy documents.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with vendor management and workforce procurement, including drafting Statement of Works (SOWs), evaluating third-party service providers, and managing external consultants.
- Experience with or understanding of AI automation systems.
- Experience with and functional knowledge of the regulatory compliance landscape and statutory frameworks in Japan and South Korea.
- Ability to be an influential member of an integrated team of technical and non-technical members.
- Ability to communicate in Korean fluently to drive regional programs and engage South Korean stakeholders and regulators.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, analytical, and investigative skills, with strong attention to detail, action-orientation, and integrity.

Regulatory Affairs helps the company innovate responsibly and comply with laws around the world. We partner with teams across Global Affairs, Product Areas, and the rest of the company to ensure constructive engagement with governments and regulators while mitigating risk.
As a Program Manager you will join a Global team addressing the highest and emerging risks pertaining to how we manage, support, and respond to audits required by various regulatory bodies. You will work closely with Regulatory Affairs leads as well as Google and Alphabet’s Legal, Compliance, Investigation, Communications, and Engineering teams to manage programs and projects that help identify, plan for, solve and help the company adapt to Alphabet’s highest risks.
In this role, you will specifically drive the localized strategy and execution of our regulatory audit portfolio in the Northeast Asia region. You will bridge the gap between highly technical engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders, utilizing automated technologies to streamline processes while overseeing our strategic extended workforce partners.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, manage, and facilitate a portfolio of regulatory programs. Manage the design of compliance program(s) via cross-functional collaboration with product and legal stakeholders.
- Understand regulations to advice on the design of compliance strategy, conduct current state assessments, analyze capabilities for target state solution, develop relevant compliance artifacts e.g., Risk and control matrix, policies, etc.
- Lead a portfolio of regulatory audits conducted by third party external auditors or regulators for Alphabet including technical audits involving Application Security Testing, Code reviews, Information Security controls reviews. Own the end to end lifecycle including development of governance and processes.
- Communicate schedules, priorities, and status to all levels in the company regarding the status of new and emerging regulations.
- Ensure end to end Program Management aspects are built and maintained for the portfolio of regulatory obligations.
