Product Manager, Responsible AI Infra

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or a related technical role.
  • 3 years of experience developing, launching, and maintaining AI or Large Language Model (LLM) based products.
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • Experience with generative AI, LLMs, or data pipelines.
  • Knowledge of AI policy, copyright law, or data privacy regulations.

AI Data is the driving channel behind Google's rapid delivery of groundbreaking, impactful, and responsible AI. We make GenAI development simpler, faster, and more effective by addressing Responsible AI in GenAI development.

Our goal is to create user-friendly, trustworthy, and privacy-preserving data and metadata solutions for AI products. This will not only help Google meet the challenges of the fast-paced AI landscape but will also be crucial for achieving Google's company-wide Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for significant advancements in artificial intelligence.

This role sits at the intersection of AI innovation, engineering, and policy and process. You will play a vital role in Google's GenAI launch velocity, unblocking key training datasets and researcher productivity while building the core data governance foundation that protects Google's products and users.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $163000 - $237000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Shape and develop core tools that enable the creation of responsible, safe, fair, and transparent AI, taking novel ideas from raw concepts all the way to developer adoption.
  • Manage a broad range of technical areas, including risk classification tools and automated compliance pipelines, to translate complex policies into scalable software and address legal and compliance risks.
  • Support technical, scaled processes for GenAI model training, tuning, evaluation, and launch configurations in order to unblock Google DeepMind (GDM) launches and enhance researcher productivity.
  • Act as a master collaborator across organizational boundaries by presenting technical proposals to engineering teams, delivering risk assessments to cross-functional stakeholders, and securing execution backing from leadership.
