Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental or Safety Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of EHS experience focusing on program management, risk mitigation, and emergency response.
  • Experience managing EHS standards within the Middle East or in the UK/Europe.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH International Diploma, CSP, or CMIOSH.
  • Experience in interfacing with local regulatory authorities.
  • Experience leading teams or functions, with the ability to influence senior regional stakeholders.
  • Strong background in facility engineering topics (e.g., fire and life safety systems).

As a member of GSRS you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resiliency are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.

We are seeking a senior EHS Manager to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of safety programs across our emerging markets portfolio in EMEA (e.g., Middle East, Africa). In this role, you will do more than monitor compliance; you will work closely with key stakeholders to identify operational risks and develop practical, scalable solutions that allow the business to move quickly while staying safe. This position requires strong collaboration with internal partner teams and a solid technical or engineering foundation to support complex facility programs and large event operations.

As a senior leader within the team, you will provide strategic resilience to the function, serving as a key deputy to the Regional EHS Lead and driving high-level functional excellence across the broader EMEA region.

Responsibilities

  • Author and deploy local EHS policies, standard operating procedures and guidance as related to regional operations, emergency management and large-scale events. 
  • Serve as a strategic backup for the Regional EHS Lead. Provide senior-level coverage and leadership.
  • Interpret and provide guidance to business leadership for compliance on local legislation.
  • Implement Environmental Health & Safety related solutions in partnership with cross-functional teams such as Workplace Services and Security. 
  • Implement effective emergency management solutions in relation to medical, fire and disaster situations.
