Senior Interaction Designer, Billing UX, Payments

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
  • Experience designing consumer-facing Business-to-Consumer (B2C) products within Payments, FinTech, E-commerce, or transactional digital platforms.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience implementing visual design systems across platforms in an iterative software development environment, applying design tools (e.g. Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch).
  • Experience working in a UX team and a product design environment in close collaboration with design, research, product management and engineering as part of the product development process.
  • Experience in visual design.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, and ability to convey complex ideas simply.

In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $159000 - $231000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Develop optimized checkout and sign-up journeys across Google, partnering with senior leads and aligning it with overall product strategy and balancing user and business needs.
  • Develop UX deliverables, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that are intuitive, engaging, and accessible and collaborate with UX Researchers (UXR) to understand user needs and validate designs through testing and iteration.
  • Contribute to and maintain the Platform's design system, ensuring consistency and evolving the system where needed to support this new investment area.
  • Communicate design rationale and advocate for design decisions to stakeholders at all levels, stay current with UX trends in this space, and share knowledge within the team and organization.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships and alignment between Connections and partner teams the across Payments Platform.
