Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience working in a privacy related field (e.g., security engineering, data engineering, data scientist, compliance engineering etc.).
- 2 years of experience managing, mentoring, and developing a team to drive initiatives and solutions for technological problems with company-wide impact.
- 2 years of experience managing resources (e.g. prioritizing work, project planning and execution, etc.) to solve technical and operational problems, customizing existing solutions and frameworks to meet organizational needs.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA, Graduate degree, or equivalent practical experience in a technical, quantitative, or business field.
- Experience with AI/ML privacy, including model privacy, data minimization in training sets, or synthetic data generation.
- Ability to resolve high-stakes policy/product conflicts by communicating technical risks to both technical and non-technical executive stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a team of privacy engineering professionals.

The Global Business Strategy and Operations (GBS&O) team is responsible for providing insightful review, perspective and direction on the strategy and operating performance of Google’s Global Business Organization (GBO). GBO comprises all the sales, services, product commercialization and business development/partnerships teams that power Google’s multi-billion dollar ads business.
GBS&O includes critical strategic and operational teams that accelerate Google’s performance including Chief of Staff and Strategic Narratives team that supports GBO leadership, Global Business Strategy and Planning, Data Insights and Analytics, and Ads Policy, Risk and Compliance.
GBS&O is part of the Global Go-to-Market (GTM) organization that ensures Google's large and complex advertising business is pursuing the best strategy and executing flawlessly. Team members are experts in business strategy and operations analytical, principled and strategic, yet highly pragmatic and results-oriented.
As a Privacy Engineering Manager, you will oversee the effective and efficient administration of the GBO Privacy Working Group (PWG), in accordance with Google's privacy principles. You will transform the way that privacy operates across GBO, ensuring regulatory compliance, and safeguarding user trust, while also identifying opportunities to support business growth. You will lead a high-performing team that plays a critical role in allowing our ads business to grow in an evolving global market. You are a leader who specializes in seeing the big picture and setting strategic direction with the team to support day-to-day operations. With your stakeholder management skills, you will navigate ambiguity to influence leaders across functions owning the narrative for privacy practice across GBO.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Lead the team responsible for developing, shaping, and maintaining our privacy program on behalf of GBO, coordinating across partnerships, sales and support teams globally.
- Partner with teams across GBO to develop privacy safe designs and complete launch reviews to ensure compliance with privacy policies.
- Partner with executive leadership to launch and scale strategic initiatives, providing data-driven insights and executive-ready updates on urgent business-impacting issues.
- Identify opportunities to optimize GBO’s PWG operations by integrating AI/ML tools directly into the review lifecycle.
