Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure, AlloyDB

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in software development using C++ or Go.
  • 3 years of experience designing and developing infrastructure or distributed systems.
  • 1 year of experience leveraging AI tools or frameworks to accelerate development and engineering productivity.
  • Experience designing and developing relational databases, database internals, information retrieval, query planning and execution.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience designing/building Agentic-AI systems and applications, with an understanding of core-systems and application-architecture.

We push the boundaries of how Vector Search DBs are being used by our customers, with AI query engine we introduce a whole new way of leveraging these databases and developing a next-generation benchmarking platform to ensure AlloyDB's vector operations perform at their absolute peak.

Responsibilities

  • Write and test product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
