Data Center Area Security Manager, CRSM

Minimum qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience managing, sourcing, or procuring business resources and vendors.
  • 7 years of experience developing and deploying processes to mitigate risk, and leading operational or project based work and tasks.
  • 7 years of experience coordinating or managing resources for data center locations.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience coordinating or leading security, and experience planning security operations or strategy for security programs.
  • 4 years of experience managing incidents and crises.
  • 2 years of experience with physical security system architecture, components, installation methods, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • 2 years of experience with data center technologies, infrastructure, and methodologies.
  • Experience managing a geographically dispersed contracted workforce.

About the job

As a Data Center Security Manager, you deliver full pieces of a project and make significant contributions with minimal guidance. You use your knowledge of security technology, data analysis, and data visualization to plan efforts of a team responsible for small to medium sized initiatives by delivering value-added perspectives and influencing project direction. You contribute to cross-team collaborations, identify and recommend multiple creative ways to solve defined problems. You also demonstrate the behaviors expected of all Googlers as captured in Google's cultural pillars, and you engage in community contributions to improve and sustain our culture and operations, making Google a better place to work.

As a Data Center Area Security Manager, you will drive the outcomes of key data center infrastructure through technical contributions. You will develop and lead programs that align with regional or global strategy in order to gain site efficiency. You'll partner with external industry leaders and collaborate with upper management and cross-functional teams to discuss project prioritization, and resource allocation. You'll also demonstrate the behaviors expected of all Googlers as captured in Google's cultural pillars, and engage in community contributions to improve and sustain our culture, making Google a better place to work.

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We are an upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $133000 - $194000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of vendors providing services including security, training, and risk management for one or multiple cross-functional technical infrastructure locations.
  • Act as a single point of escalation for defined security-related incidents having uncertain solutions.
  • Drive security work to ensure one or more technical infrastructure locations are in compliance with all regional governmental and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Develop cross-functional strategies to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and maintain an appropriate security posture.
  • Perform complex risk assessments and provide feedback to internal design teams for a variety of highly secure facilities.
