Minimum qualifications:

  • PhD in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience leading a research agenda.
  • Experience conducting research in Reinforcement Learning (RL) or reasoning.
  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLM).
  • Experience in AI research labs.
  • One or more scientific publication submission(s) for conferences, journals, or public repositories as first author.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in coding and leading multiple research efforts and influencing research direction.
  • Experience driving research projects from conception to completion.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • A track record of research or engineering achievements, including publications in peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
  • Award-winning paper first author on target domains.

As a Research Scientist, you'll setup large-scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly, managing deadlines and deliverables while applying the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies. Responsibilities

  • Propose new Reinforcement Learning (RL) algorithms, scaling RL or inference time compute for improving Gemini, improve model capability upper bound with RL, innovation on agentic RL.
  • Conduct critical research in AI auto research and self-improvement.
  • Anticipate where the next major research breakthroughs will come from, and build research agendas around new paradigms.
  • Execute, as a team, on the most promising research agendas.
  • Communicate research findings clearly through plots, writeups, and paper-ready narratives, while contributing to a team culture of first-principles thinking, high standards, and constructive feedback.
