Technical Program Manager, Google Play Developer

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in program management, including predictive risk management, resource estimation, and global stakeholder steering.
  • Experience navigating engineering organizations with dependencies and cross-site partners.
  • Experience navigating engineering scope, assessing feasibility, and managing dependencies across a global stack.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proven track record of managing portfolio planning and roadmap prioritization, ensuring alignment between engineering, product, and executive North Star metrics
  • Proficiency in leveraging AI tools and frameworks to automate workflows, enhance data-driven decision-making, and accelerate program execution.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to drive consensus across organizational boundaries and reach agreement on product direction.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical trade-offs for executive audiences and align stakeholders.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate projects that span offices, product areas, and time zones, ensuring all players are aligned on progress and deadlines.
  • Partner with engineering and product leads to accelerate organizational execution and drive high-priority initiatives.
  • Manage the organization’s portfolio planning and prioritization, drive Roadmap/Objectives and Key Results (OKR) planning, milestones, and software schedules in partnership with Product, UX and Engineering.
  • Advocate the use of AI best practices and tools to automate workflows, reduce manual toil, and improve overall program efficiency.
  • Architect scalable processes and introduce governance frameworks to reduce organizational complexity and improve global communication.
