(All Times US/Pacific) Incident Start: 06 September 2022 12:49 Incident End: 06 September 2022 19:04 Duration: 6 hours, 15 minutes Affected Services and Features: Google Chat - Smart Reply feature Regions/Zones: Global Description: Google Chat experienced an issue where Chat Smart Reply features were not available for the users for a duration of 6 hours, 15 minutes. From preliminary analysis, the root cause of the issue is a regular maintenance activity which inadvertently deleted the backend models supporting the feature. The issue was resolved by restoring the backend models. Customer Impact: Customers were unable to use Chat Smart Reply features for the duration of the outage. The other functionality of Google Chat including sending and receiving messages were not affected.

Thank you for your patience. All Google Chat users will no longer have Chat Smart Reply features. The regular Chat functionality is not affected.
